My research as an artist consists of using painting, video, installation, and performance interchangebly and in combinations to study autonomy in multiple cultural contexts.
I recontextualize various formulaic canons of media structures and entertainment industry such as branding, televised sporting events, traffic control signage, and geocaching, and reframe them to address layered social topics such as the desire for techno-utopianism, the seduction of the spectacle in mass media, and consequences of transhumanist theory. I am currently an instructor of painting, drawing, and intermedia at Pennsylvania State University. |
